LMC 2023 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Library Marketing and Communications Group Board is thrilled to announce our third annual Scholarship Program! Thanks to the generosity of our conference sponsors, we are presenting six scholarships for LMCC23 to the lucky recipients below. This year’s scholarship covers the cost of full conference registration and provides a $550 travel stipend. Thanks to all who applied, and congratulations to the scholarship recipients! |

Kate Elliot- David A. Howe Public Library, Wellsville, NY Kate Elliott has been a long-time, frequent patron of libraries but she only recently started her first job at one. As of January, she became the Public Programming and Exhibits Curator at the David A. Howe Public Library in Wellsville, NY. DAHPL is a grand old library that contains both an auditorium and an art gallery and Kate has the privilege of planning programming for these spaces. Prior to joining the library staff, Kate had worked in higher education, international non-profits, tax law, and banking but she’s always been an artist at heart; Her position at the library has provided a rare opportunity for her to bring her professional skills and personal passions together. |
Jessica Faust- East Central Regional Library, Cambridge, MN Jessica Faust is the inaugural Marketing and Communications Manager for East Central Regional Library (ECRL), a regional library system in Minnesota with 14 branch locations across six counties. She joined the ECRL team the summer of 2021 after having worked in Communications and Human Resources in a public school district for six years. Jessica is a one-woman department responsible for all the marketing, communications, and fundraising efforts of East Central Regional Library. She loves using her creativity and enthusiasm to promote all the great things that libraries do and offer to their communities. In her free time, Jessica enjoys traveling, getting crafty, and losing herself in a good book. JESSICA'S VIDEO (not yet available) |
Grace Howes- St. Catherines Public Library, St. Catherines, Ontario Grace Howes is the Communications Specialist at the St. Catharines Public Library and is proud to call Niagara her home. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Journalism, English Language and Literature, as well as a Public Relations Certificate from Niagara College. With a public relations background in non-profit, Grace jumped at the chance to apply her skills to the library field in April 2022 and never looked back. She’s a proud 40 Under 40 Business Achievement Award recipient, dedicated volunteer, enthusiastic runner, and die-hard romance reader. GRACE'S VIDEO (not yet available) |
Margaret Luedke- Juneau Public Libraries, Juneau, AK Margaret Luedke is the Grants and Marketing Coordinator for the Juneau Public Libraries in Juneau, Alaska. She earned her BA in History from Gonzaga University and her MLIS from the University of Washington. Before moving into her marketing role in early 2022, she spent four years managing a program connecting remote Alaskans with Juneau Public Library materials and resources. Since February 2022 Margaret has been responsible for all aspects of marketing for the Juneau Public Libraries. She is excited to connect with others doing library marketing work and bring new tools and insights back to her work in Juneau. MARGARET'S VIDEO (not yet available) |
Cindy McMillan- Hawaii State Public Library System, Honolulu, HI Cindy McMillan began her career in a small education association in Washington, D.C. and subsequently worked at the Honolulu City Council and in one of Honolulu’s leading communications agencies. For eight years, she led the communication team for Gov. David Ige (D-HI). Cindy is an avid reader whose life and career path were shaped by her local public library. Upon moving to Honolulu in 1996, she immediately got her library card and has been using it ever since. |
