14 Oct 2026 4:21 PM | Anonymous
  • In just one month, hundreds of library marketing and communications professionals will arrive in St. Louis, Missouri for LMCC26! Will you be one of them?

This conference is an amazing combination of networking, learning, and fun. Whether you are a first-time attendee or a seasoned pro, here are all the reasons to put this conference on the top of your professional development list and register today.

Here are 10 reasons to attend LMCC26!

  1. Learn New Ideas Centered on Library Challenges
Grab a notebook (provided by 4Imprint) and get ready to jot down tons of notes and ideas. Our roles as library marketers and communicators are unique from other library roles. This industry conference is uniquely targeted to the topics that keep you up at night. Every topic you’ll hear about at the conference will directly apply to your role and you’ll leave inspired with new ideas to tackle your challenges.

  2. Fight Censorship at the Pre-Conference
Register for the pre-conference on November 10 and you’ll learn how to tackle censorship from Joyce McIntosh, Program Officer with the American Library Association Office for Intellectual Freedom (ALA) and the Assistant Program Director for the Freedom to Read Foundation (FTRF). During the workshop, attendees will learn about the relationship between libraries, censorship, the First Amendment and the Law, will review the importance of having sound policies in place, and how to evaluate their own policies to prepare for future challenges. (Note: the pre-conference must be registered for in advance in addition to the main conference.)

  3. Tailored Schedule Around Topics that Matter to YOU
At the Day 1 keynote, the Milwaukee Public Library Communications and Marketing team will share what happens after you go viral and on Day 2 Kiosha Boyles from Richland Public Library will explore what AI can't do for your library. In addition to two powerful keynotes, you can create a customized schedule for yourself to hear from experts from around the library marketing and communication field. View the conference schedule here.

  4. Network with New People
There is nothing more validating than gathering in a room with your library marketing and communication peers to celebrate wins, generate inspiring ideas, and commiserate over shared challenges. Don’t forget your business cards, because you are going to want to connect and keep in touch with everyone you meet. There is even a Networking Commons in a designated room so you can connect away from the crowds.

  5. Share SWAG at the SWAP
Bring your best physical library marketing pieces to the SWAG Swap and pick up marketing and promotional samples from your fellow library marketing experts. You’re sure to go home with tons of inspiration for your next campaign.

  6. Cultivate Serenity in the Quiet Space
Conferences can be great for connection and learning, but sometimes we need a break and some peace and quiet! If the idea of socializing all day long overwhelms you, and you need a place to get away from the crowds and the noise, you can stop by a designated quiet room during the conference.

  7. Enjoy Catered Breakfast & Lunch
Your conference fee includes a delicious Hyatt breakfast buffet and plated lunch, as well as an afternoon beverage break, which will keep you nourished for networking and learning. Dinner is on your own—you can join a dine-around to a nearby restaurant, form your own dinner group, or if you need some time to unwind on your own, there are plenty of delivery options.

  8. Connect for FUN
Cuddle with friendly pups when a group of therapy dogs visits or explore the St. Louis restaurant scene with new library pals!  When you arrive, join attendees for a Welcome Reception and Sponsor Showcase from 4:30-6pm on November 10, featuring light refreshments and a cash bar, and the Poetry Fox who will write you a custom poem on his typewriter. Or bring your own craft work-in-progress (like knitting, crocheting, drawing, etc.) or your own board game for Creative Connections and Tabletop Games from 6-7:30pm on November 11.

  9. Savor Autumn in St. Louis
In your spare time, take in the sights in St. Louis. The hotel is located directly adjacent from Gateway Arch National Park,  so you can check off a visit to a National Park while you’re in town!  Other fun activities an Uber-ride away include the Budweiser Brewery Experience where you may even be able to meet the Clydesdales, the St. Louis Zoo (free), and the St. Louis Art Museum (free). Or join a docent-led tour of the Central Branch of the St. Louis Public Library on November 12 from 4:30-6:30. If you are unable to secure a spot, you can still explore the library on a self-guided tour.

  10. Celebrate Library Marketing Success
The Library Marketing and Communications Conference will celebrate the second annual Best of Marketing Awards! Thanks to the generosity of sponsor hoopla! Digital, we will present two awards for 2026: Best of Marketing Award (Public Library) and Best of Marketing Award (Academic/Special Library). Each awarded library will receive $1,500 to be used toward a future marketing campaign. Additionally, 6 peer libraries have been selected for a Peer Marketing Award. Check out their marketing campaigns and vote during the conference. Winners will be announced after voting concludes.
